Butterflies (Sub-ordo Rhopalocera) play an important role in the ecosystem of Suranadi Natural Park in West Lombok. Butterflies are beneficial as pollinators, indicator of environmental quality, and object study that have high aesthetic value. Diversity of butterflies species found in natural park provides an interesting picture for both protection and sustained research. The present studyaimed at analyzing thediversityof butterfly at Suranadi Natural Park of West Lombok. This exploration is a descriptive study. This research was conducted on April 8 2018. Method of sampling butterflies is done by survey method. Data were observed in the morning and in the afternoon for one day using a sweeping technique by following the transect line which has been determined based on observation result consist of three main lines that is left, middle and right path. The data analysis used the Shannon-Wiener diversity index. The result of the research is thirty (30) species of butterflies belonging to 5 families identified. The diversity index (H ') of the butterflie sspecies in TWA Suranadi is 1, 7 (relatively low).
