Abstract

Coral reefs are an important ecosystem that contains various important biota, one of which is coral fish. This research aims to determine the condition of coral reef and coral fish cover on Kalong Island, Gili Balu TWP. Coral reef sampling was carried out using the PIT method. Meanwhile, coral fish data collection was carried out using the UVC method. Data was taken at 1 station located in the coral reef area on Kalong Island. Coral reefs on Kalong Island have a very low cover of 5% with the dominance of substrate cover in the form of coral rubble and sand. The number of known fish species is 33 species of coral fish consisting of 15 coral fish families. The total abundance of coral fish was 0.944 ind/m2 with the dominant families respectively Pomacentridai, Labridae, Scaridae and Acanthuridae with values ​​of 0.32 ind/m2, 0.228 ind/m2, 0.164 ind/m2 and 0.096 ind/m2.
