Pengaruh Pojok Baca terhadap Minat Belajar Anak melalui Pendekatan Bermain di Desa Sajang

Abstract

Learning interest is one of the essential factors in the success of children’s educational processes. Low learning interest may hinder the development of children’s cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. One effort to improve children’s learning interest is through the provision of reading corners integrated with a play-based learning approach. This study aims to analyze the effect of reading corners on children’s learning interest through a play-based learning approach in Sajang Village, Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency.
This study employed a quantitative method with a survey approach. The population consisted of elementary school-aged children in Sajang Village who participated in reading corner activities, with a sample of 80 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and simple linear regression.
The results indicate that the quality of the reading corner is categorized as good with an average score of 3.86, while children’s learning interest is categorized as high with an average score of 3.87. Regression analysis shows that the reading corner has a positive and significant effect on children’s learning interest with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a coefficient of determination of 55.6%. These findings suggest that well-managed reading corners combined with a play-based learning approach can significantly enhance children’s learning interest. This study recommends the continuous development of reading corners as a strategy to improve educational quality and children’s literacy culture in rural areas.
